Ascutney Mountain, Vermont
Snowiage
The image this week is one I was hoping for but have never had the opportunity to pull off before.
Known locally as a "snowiage" photo, the image is of Mt. Ascutney in my sister's backyard in Vermont, and it shows snow on the mountain at the same time as some trees in peak fall foliage.
I think the contrast of the first of the season's light snowfalls and the bright tints of the trees in their fall finest is quite striking. When you add in the classically Vermont old red barn along the winding dirt road, I think it intereting.
Soon, the leaves will all be down, and perhaps Ascutney will have more snow and then we'll be into the start of winter, but for right now, fall is still here in all her glory.
