White Throated Sparrow in the Snow

Snow!
Since starting my daily image project a little over two weeks ago, we’ve been experiencing something not normally seen around here – lots of grey (well, OK that’s not unusual) and snow! As I type this, we have about 25 or so cm on the ground (a foot or so for American readers) and we have had flurries and snow almost every day this year! In the last 2 weeks, it’s been snow every day and total maybe 5 minutes of sun showing partially through the clouds in small breaks.
The unusual weather has made me focus on things close to home, and of course the first thing that comes to mind are all the little birds coming to our feeders. The image this week (DIP #17) is of a white-throated Sparrow, and you can see the snow still lightly falling down around it. I’ve had picture opportunities for several species of birds, but our sparrows, juncos and cardinals seem to be the most photogenic.
In other news – I’ve got two pieces in a show with an opening tomorrow!
