Beach Rose
Beach Roses
One thing that is surely July in Nova Scotia is the sight of the beach roses in bloom. Rosa Rugosa are the wild beach roses with their beautiful blossoms, lovely scent and in the fall the rose hips many birds feed on to fatten up for the winter months that will follow.
They are found along most beaches in the Province and are at their height of bloom right now.
It reminds me of the thoughts of Ann Patchett who wrote:
“Sand, waves, beach roses”
Indeed - and a great time to visit the beach!
