Early Fall Foliage

Fall Foliage
Here we are not quite in the middle of September, and already some leaves are turning colour.
The combination of a much drier summer (we are in a drought here right now), and a warmer than average summer have stressed many trees, and so this season we may get a very early fall foliage event.
The swamp maples are already very colourful, and these leaves on a vine that grow up our cedars normally don't turn for another month, but here we are.
Sure hope the rains come soon, both to help stop the forest fires that are burning, but also to help out the trees and plants that depend so much on moisture.
If it is going to even out, we'll get a drenching before the snow flies - and I hope that's the case because a multi-season drought would be something we have never had and certainly don't need!
