I love walking around cemeteries. It's the genealogist in me, I want to know the stories of those who are laid here or who are simply remembered by their families.
It was chilly this week, so Norma and I walked the dog around the village cemetery, a place where my ancestors are to be remembered. There is something peaceful and contemplative about a well-cared for cemetery, as if the people responsible are saying "You are worth looking after and worth being celebrated".
It is that, as Greg Melville said,
“Every life holds an epic tale, even if no one alive remembers it.”
