Flyfishing in the Rain

Rain
With all the rain and drizzle this last couple of weeks, one can only fish in the rain and keep at it.
I’ve had some great days flyfishing in the rain – the overcast makes it easy to not startle the fish as much, and sometimes the trout are much more active all day than they would be on a sunny day. Thunderstorms are a whole other matter, and I describe why in my book Tight Lines, but in general I love the rain for flyfishing, and as Patrick McManus said:
“The two best times to fish is when it's raining and when it ain't”
