Artisan Bread

Bread
There is something about homemade bread that is so soothing and familiar. From the simplicity of the ingredients and the process of making it, to the wonderful smell that occurs when cooking it, it is all good.
The taste of homemade bread too cannot be duplicated by packaged grocery store offerings, as it isn't hot out of the oven, and it just isn't the same as something you've put effort and thought into yourself.
Local bakeries do a good job and serve lovely bread and other goodies, but the house just smells so good when you've made your own. As fall deepens into winter, it's something I do more often, making my own bread, and I actually look forward to it.
I've got a very good bread recipe book, so I think I'll be trying some out - Of course it's Julia Child's book and she summed the whole thing up quite well I think:
"The art of bread making can become a consuming hobby, and no matter how often and how many kinds of bread one has made, there always seems to be something new to learn."
